Restoration is about effecting permanent change in your eating habits and lasting success in weight control and should take a minimum of six weeks.
In this phase you will learn the difference between and transition from calorie dense food to calorie sparse (but still micronutrient dense) food. By adding more leaves and green foods to your diet, you will lower your calorie intake. Basically, you will learn to increase the volume of green, leafy vegetables you are eating while significantly eating smaller portions of animal protein, cheese, grains and legumes.
In the Restoration phase you will introduce exercise into your program, specifically weight-bearing exercise. You will do it every day, make it part of your routine, and it will become a habit. As I say in my book, “No walk, no dessert. To earn it, you must burn it.”
